Shipping & delivery

Where we ship, how fast it travels, and what to do if it doesn't arrive.

Most orders leave our warehouse in Nummela, Finland within one working day. From there, delivery typically takes:

  • Finland — 1 to 3 working days
  • Sweden, Denmark, Estonia, Germany, the Netherlands — 3 to 5 working days
  • Rest of the EU — 5 to 7 working days
  • Outside the EU — 7 to 14 working days (customs may add a day or two)

You'll receive a tracking link by email as soon as your parcel leaves us.

Shipping is free on orders over €40 across the EU. Below that, a flat €4.90 fee applies. Outside the EU, shipping is calculated by weight at checkout — we don't add a margin.

If you're buying for a friend or a baby shower, drop us a note at checkout and we'll include a hand-written card at no extra cost.

Yes. From this store we ship to every EU country, the UK, Norway, Switzerland and Iceland.

If you're in Finland, Portugal, Poland, Greece, Slovakia, Czechia, Australia, Singapore or China, you'll find Moomin Baby on a dedicated regional site — switch regions from the language menu at the top to see local pricing, currency and shipping.

Every shipment includes a tracking link, delivered by email the moment the courier picks up the parcel. You'll also find your tracking number in your account, under My orders.

If you haven't seen anything within two working days of ordering, please check your spam folder. Still nothing? Write to us at moominbaby@delipap.fi and we'll resend it.

If your parcel hasn't left us yet, yes — write to moominbaby@delipap.fi with your order number and the new address and we'll update it. Once a parcel is in transit we can't redirect it, but most couriers let you change the drop-off point through their own tracking page.

We're sorry — packaging is one of the things we work hardest to get right. Please take a photo of the outer parcel and the damaged item, and email it to us at moominbaby@delipap.fi within 14 days of delivery. We'll send a replacement or refund the affected items, your choice.

02

Returns & refunds

We want you to feel calm about trying us. If something isn't right, here's what to do.

You have 30 days from the day your parcel arrives to return any unopened pack, for any reason — including the size didn't fit my little one. Open packs aren't generally returnable for hygiene reasons, but see the next answer.

Write to us. We're a small team and we'd rather you got the right size than gave up. We'll typically send a replacement pack in the correct size, free of charge, and ask you to donate the open pack to a friend, a family shelter, or your local maternity ward.

This isn't a policy you'll find written down on most diaper sites — it's the closest thing we have to a money-back-guarantee on fit.

Email moominbaby@delipap.fi with your order number and a sentence about why. We'll send you a prepaid label and instructions. Drop the parcel at any nearby PostNord, DHL or Posti point, and we'll take it from there.

Once your return arrives back with us, we inspect it the same day and refund to your original payment method. Banks usually settle within 3 to 5 working days. Klarna is faster — typically the next morning.

No. Inside the EU, returns are free — we cover the label. Outside the EU, the customer covers return shipping unless the item is damaged or a wrong size was sent.

03

Payment & orders

How you pay, what we ask for, and what stays private.

At checkout you can pay with:

  • Visa, Mastercard and American Express
  • Klarna — pay now, in 30 days, or split into 3 interest-free payments
  • Apple Pay and Google Pay
  • Bank transfer (Finnish, Swedish and Estonian banks)
  • PayPal

Yes. Every transaction is encrypted end-to-end, processed by PCI-DSS compliant payment partners (Stripe and Klarna). We never see or store your full card number — it's tokenised between your bank and the payment processor.

If we haven't packed it yet, yes — drop us a line at moominbaby@delipap.fi with your order number and we'll catch it. Most orders are packed within an hour or two on working days, so please write quickly.

Prices shown for EU customers already include VAT — there's nothing extra at delivery. Customers outside the EU may pay local import duties on arrival; the courier will tell you the amount before they release the parcel.

Yes — daycares, hospitals, family shelters and other institutions can be invoiced on net-14 terms. Email moominbaby@delipap.fi from your work address and we'll set you up.

Sizing & fit

Right size, right fit. The simplest thing to get wrong, and the easiest to put right.

Moomin Baby diaper sizes are graded by your baby's weight. You'll find a clear size marking on both the diaper package and the diaper itself. As a guide, if any of these is true the size you're using is wrong:

  • The diaper gets drenched, or your baby has leakage accidents.
  • The diaper doesn't completely cover your baby's buttocks.
  • The diaper looks or feels too tight.
  • The diaper leaves a red scuff mark on the waist or inner thighs.

The tightness is right if you can slip a few fingers between the diaper and your baby's stomach.

Move up a size when you start seeing leaks, when the tapes only just reach, or when the diaper leaves marks on the thighs or waist. Babies usually size up around the upper third of a size's weight range — there's no need to wait until they're too big.

Leaks are nearly always one of three things: the size is too small, the diaper has been worn too long (we recommend changing 5 to 6 times a day), or the fit around the legs isn't quite snug. Run a finger along the leg cuffs to make sure they're tucked out, not in.

Yes — our tape diapers in sizes 1, 2 and 3 have a wetness indicator that appears as a yellow line on the diaper when dry. When the diaper gets wet the line turns bluish or blue, letting you know it's time for a change.

05

Skin safety & rashes

Skin-friendliness is, with our planet, the value we work hardest at.

Diaper rash is usually the result of many factors. The most common cause is irritation from urine and fecal matter — which is also affected by your child's diet, or changes in it. Frequency of changes matters too: we recommend changing about 5 to 6 times a day, so sensitive skin isn't in contact with pee or stool for too long.

Rashes can still appear even when you're being very careful. Diarrhoea or a course of medicine can also trigger them — in those cases, change a little more often.

The best small remedy is air baths — letting your baby go without a diaper for a few hours a day, and letting the skin dry fully before the next diaper goes on. If the skin stays very red or irritated, please see a doctor so a professional can check it isn't inflamed.

Skin-friendliness is one of the most important values for us, alongside environmental responsibility. We do our best to make sure our diapers suit even the most sensitive baby skin.

We use only soft, carefully selected raw materials. We do not add fragrances, creams or dyes. The main raw material is domestic, oxygen-bleached cellulose — completely chlorine-free, and therefore dioxin-free. Our diapers contain no latex, glyphosate, formaldehyde or phthalates.

Moomin Baby diapers are made in collaboration with the Allergy, Skin and Asthma Federation and are dermatologically tested by Dermatest.

No. We don't add any fragrances, creams or dyes to the finished diapers. Moomin Baby diapers are made from carefully selected, clean and safe materials — certified by the Nordic Swan Ecolabel and the Allergy, Skin and Asthma Federation, both of which set strict criteria on what a diaper may contain.

Those small bright balls are superabsorbent (SAP) — a moisture-binding powder mixed with the cellulose in the absorbent core. When it absorbs liquid it turns into a gel-like substance, which is why it sometimes becomes visible. It is hypoallergenic and has been used safely in diapers, menstrual pads and incontinence pads for decades. It also binds odour and helps prevent bacteria, rashes and other skin problems.

Gel balls on the skin are not harmful to your baby. Normally they stay inside the absorbent layer; if they appear on the surface, it usually means the diaper is very wet and is ready for a change.

Send us an email — really. We'd rather understand your baby's specific situation than offer a script. Write to moominbaby@delipap.fi and a real person at our factory in Nummela will write back, usually within a working day.

06

Materials & ingredients

What's inside the pack, where it comes from, and what's left out on purpose.

The main absorbent is 100% FSC®-certified cellulose from Finnish forests, bleached with oxygen (so it is completely chlorine-free). The absorbent core is wrapped in a non-woven fabric with liquid-permeable and repellent layers, and a small amount of superabsorbent (SAP) is mixed with the cellulose to keep your baby's skin dry.

The top and outer layers touching skin are made of soft, skin-friendly materials — polypropylene fibre fabric on the inside, and a breathable polyethylene-and-non-woven blend on the outside. Fasteners are polypropylene and polyethylene. All adhesives are FDA-approved hot-melts, the same as those used in food packaging.

With 100% oxygen, not chlorine. This is a much safer solution for both skin and environment, and it makes our diapers dioxin-free. No optical brighteners are added either — we want the cellulose to stay as clean and chemical-free as possible.

The main raw material — cellulose — is fully biodegradable. The non-woven fibres around it are not. There is currently no fully biodegradable disposable diaper on the market, but the share of biodegradable raw materials is steadily increasing, and we keep working on it.

When you think about the environmental impact of a diaper, the full life cycle matters: raw materials, manufacturing, transport, disposal. Moomin Baby diapers are made in Finland, from carefully chosen mostly-Nordic raw materials, and are 100% carbon neutral.

Yes — Helmi Baby biodegradable wipes are made of 100% viscose, with soothing allantoin and moisturising glycerine. They contain no dyes, no fragrances and no skin-irritating alcohol. They're vegan and biodegradable, so they can go into your home compost, composting toilet or organic waste.

07

Sustainability & recycling

From Finland's only diaper factory — and what happens when the pack is empty.

Moomin Baby diapers are completely chlorine-free, which makes them suitable for energy waste (incineration) — they don't emit harmful emissions when burned. Not every incinerator accepts diapers though, so it's worth asking your local plant about their policy first.

You can also dispose of them as normal mixed waste. Either way, our diapers are an environmentally responsible choice among disposable diapers — the main raw material is biodegradable cellulose from FSC-certified Finnish forests, and the outer packaging is made of 60% recycled plastic, which sorts with plastic recycling.

Several things. Our raw materials meet the strict criteria of both the Nordic Swan Ecolabel and the Allergy, Skin and Asthma Federation. Our factory in Nummela runs on solar energy and certified hydroelectric power — both renewable, both zero-emission. We use the heat from production to warm the production hall. And no waste from our production goes to landfill: it is all recycled, or incinerated for new energy.

Taken across the whole life cycle, Moomin Baby diapers are 100% carbon neutral.

We use only solar energy and certified hydro-electricity, neither of which emits carbon into the air. Our production also doesn't generate any harmful emissions to air or water. We use the heat from production to warm our facility, and our diapers are made in Finland, so the journey from factory to store shelf is short.

Also — and this matters more than people realise — please wean your baby from diapers sooner rather than later. It's better for the skin, and better for the planet.

The Helmi Baby disposable changing mat, and both the standard and biodegradable wipes, are made in Finland.

Certifications

Independent bodies who hold us accountable.

The Allergy Label is awarded by the Finnish Allergy, Skin and Asthma Federation to baby diapers that are independently tested and proven safe. The Label guarantees products are free of fragrances, scents and other easily irritating or sensitising substances. Moomin Baby diapers are hypoallergenic and suitable for babies with sensitive skin.

The Key Flag is a registered Community trademark that reliably proves a product is made in Finland with Finnish labour. Moomin Baby diapers are the only diapers in Finland to carry it — manufactured in Finland's only diaper factory, in Tammisaari (Southern Finland). Choosing Finnish-made supports jobs at home and means shorter shipping journeys, with lower transport emissions.

FSC® — the Forest Stewardship Council — is the world's first international forest certification system, promoting environmentally sound and responsible forestry. The main raw material in all Moomin Baby diapers is FSC®-certified cellulose from FSC®-certified Finnish coniferous forests. Domestic forestry doesn't use chemical pesticides like glyphosate to control water bugs, so the cellulose in our diapers is safe for your baby. For every tree cut, new ones are grown.

The Nordic Swan Ecolabel evaluates a product across its full life cycle — from raw materials, through production, all the way to disposal. Swan-labelled products may not contain substances harmful to consumer health or the environment, and the materials must be produced with minimum emissions. Swan-labelled diapers may not contain any unnecessary added chemicals such as creams or perfumes.

Dermatest is an internationally renowned company in Germany that tests the dermatological tolerance of products. Their clinical tests examine how human skin reacts to a product, applied to the skin in appropriate concentrations and checked after 24, 48 and 72 hours. Products that pass receive the Dermatest® Guarantee certificate. Moomin Baby diapers are dermatologically tested, and have been proven safe for use on sensitive skin.
